Hickory Grove Youth Ministry
The Hickory Grove Youth Ministry exists for students to Love God, Love Others, and Lead Others to Love God!
Splash
One of our main goals is to help students make a SPLASH in their world that will impact others with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. "Splash" fulfills our to purpose to "lead others to love God." So you will sometimes hear us talk about "Splash" events or "Splash" projects. These are happenings that involve getting teens to serve and make a difference for others. Some of these service & mission opportunities take place at different times and places throughout the year, but below is a list of ongoing ministry teams and opportunities:
Spiritual Gift Discovery
God has SHAPED us all to serve Him in a unique way and a key part of that is the spiritual gifts He has given us. Take the
spiritual gifts survey as a tool to guide you in discovering
how God has gifted you!Creative Ministries
Serve God in creative ways through interpretive movement and drama and share these in our Sunday worship services. To sign up contact
Jon."Won by One" Evangelism
This is not a program or event, but a personal challenge. Each school year we challenge our students to pray and identify at least 5 friends that they want to prayerfully, relationally, and intentionally lead to Jesus. They sign a commitment in Thirst worship service or Plunge small group, and then pick up a "Won by One" card where they write the names of 5 classmates, friends, etc. to pray for, love, and lead to Christ. We believe one on one personal evangelism is highly effective and Biblically expected!"Share Jesus Without Fear—Students Reaching Students"
This is a five-session Bible study that will help youth become more natural and confident as they share their faith with others. Students will learn a relational approach to witnessing that takes the pressure off as they learn to depend on the power of the Holy Spirit. A great tool to help with their "Won by One" Evangelism challenge. This class may meet at various times during the year, so check below for dates and times."Share Jesus Without Fear" will begin on Sunday, February 10. You can sign up in "Thirst" worship by Feb. 3 to take the class. For more info contact Jon.
"Experiencing God Course: Knowing and Doing the Will of God"
This is a discipleship study group designed to prepare teens to impact their world. It teaches them to hear God speak, and to see Him at work around them in their everyday lives so they can join Him in His redemptive mission! This is a study with a high level of commitment that focuses on knowing and doing God’s will by experiencing Him through a relationship that is very real and personal. Meets periodically throughout the year, see below for times and updates:
There will be another "Experiencing God" class next Fall (at the beginning of the school year). If you have questions or would like to get on the "early bird" class list, contact Jon.
3D Leadership
As we follow Christ, we are also called to lead others to Him. 3D Leadership is an opportunity for students to take ownership in our youth ministry
and be a servant-leader. Those who commit to student leadership will be on our "3D Leadership Team." If you are interested, please click on the
"Grove Student Leadership Application" link and prayerfully consider the calling and commitment to being a servant-leader in our youth ministry.
For more information, also feel free to talk to Jon or one of our youth ministry adult leaders.Grove Student Leadership Application
